Information:
The engine type in the
Chinese scooters are often the GY6 which is a 125cc or 150cc air cooled
engine and is a clone of a 90's Honda design which is a very durable engine
with excellent parts availability.
The 250cc scooters are most commonly using the CFMoto 244cc (Model 172MM)
vertical cylinder water cooled engine. This engine is a clone of the Honda
Helix engine from the 90's and is characterized by having a vertical
cylinder orientation. Next is the Linhai clone 257cc engine (Yamaha design)
which is a horizontal cylinder and also water cooled and a clone of the 250
Majesty engine from the 90's. Typically these have
12" or 13" rear wheels and are not yet as commonly used as the CFMoto
design.
